On December 5th, we attended the Sparks Charity Winter Ball, at the Rosewood Hotel. The event aimed to raise funds, in support of vital leukaemia treatment research, replacing or partially aiding the current treatment procedures.

As a charity focused on child health, Sparks has done an outstanding job of raising awareness about the harrowing experience that parents go through when their child is diagnosed with leukemia. We were fortunate to share a table with the parents of Lilly, who was diagnosed with leukemia but has since made a full recovery and is now leading a vibrant life like any other child. Their story was both terrifying and inspiring, demonstrating that even a deadly disease like leukemia can be overcome with resilience and groundbreaking advances in medical treatment.

With a humble pledge of £450, ABI hopes to contribute to the wonderful research that Sparks are helping sponsor. We look forward to seeing advances in treatments, in the near future, that will ease the process of treatment and recovery for the most vulnerable of the leukaemia victims - children and their families.

We encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with the wonderful work that Sparks do and consider making a pledge by following the link: https://www.gosh.org/about-us/sparks-charity.
